Biography
Chenzhong Li is the Program Director of Nanobiosensing program at NSF since 2017. He is also the Professor and the Director of the Nanobioengineering/Bioelectronics Lab, in the Biomedical Engineering Department at Florida International University (Miami). He received his M.Sc (Electrochemistry) and Ph.D (Bioengineering, 2000) from Kumamoto University in Japan. He served as a post-doctoral research associate at the university of British Columbia and as professional research associate at the University of Saskatchewan and Adnavance Technologies, Inc. He worked at Nanobiotechnology/Biosensor Group of Biotechnology Research Institute, Canada National Research Council as Research Officer till 2006. He joined in FIU in 2006 and he is a full professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and an affiliated professor in the Department of Immunology at the College of Medicine.
The impact of his work is documented in 10 granted patents, about 130 peer-reviewed journal papers, 3 books, 7 book chapters, over 140 presentations including more than 110 keynote/invited lectures and seminars worldwide.
Research Interest
He is an expert in bioelectronics, specifically in the development of biomedical devices such as organ on chips and biosensors for Point of Care Testings. His research interests include wireless diagnostics, cell electronics, neuron-device interface, biomarker and nanotoxicity measurements, electronic therapy and electron transfer study of various biomolecules.
