Biography

Dr. Howlader is an Assistant Professor in Micro- and Nano-Systems laboratory of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. His research focuses on the design, fabrication, characterization and development of new materials and novel engineered components to create integrated sensing systems for environmental and health applications. In particular, he develops foundational technologies in the surface activated nanobonding to integrate flexible, soft and hard materials for the sensing systems that enable energy harvesting.
He is a member of Japan Institute of Electronic Packaging (JIEP), and The Electrochemical Society. He received the Best Technical Paper Award at the International Conference on Electronic Packaging in 2003.
He received his PhD degree from Kyushu University in Japan. As an Endowed Assistant and Associate Professor with the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Tokyo, he was engaged in teaching and research in the field of microsystems integration and packaging.
