Stefan Dübel is full Professor of Biotechnology and Director of the respective department at the Technische Universität Braunschweig, Germany. He further serves as director of the technology transfer unit "Centre for Molecular Engineering" of iTUBSmbH and as consultant to biotech / pharma companies and US/EU goverment institutions. He initiated the "Antibody factory" of the German National Gemome Research Network and is editor of the four volume "Handbook of Therapeutic Antibodies" and other antibody engineering books. He is co-founder of several biotech companies, including the animal-free antibody company Abcalis and the human therapeutic antibody discovery and antibody engineering company Yumab.

Dr. D.Y. Li is a Professor at Dept. of Chemical & Materials Eng., University of Alberta. His interests of research include surfaces and interfaces, wear and corrosion-wear synergy, electron work function - based methodologies for materials design and analysis, and computational materials science. Dr. Li obtained a B.Sc. in Solid Mechanics from University of Science and Technology China, a M.Sc. in Solid-State Physics from Sun Yat-sen University, a PhD in Materials Physics from University of Science and Technology Beijing, and a PhD in Metallurgical Engineering from McGill University. Before joining U. of Alberta in 1998, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Pennsylvania State University (1995–97). He is an Adjunct Professor of Biomedical Eng. at U. of Alberta, a visiting professor and scientist in a number of foreign institutes during his sabbatical years, and the recipient of MetSoc 2020 Distinguished Materials Scientist Award and other honors & awards. Dr. Li is on the editorial board for nineteen technical journals. Dr. Li has in excess of 420 publications, including 380+ refereed journal publications. He is an invited contributor for authoritative handbooks/encyclopaedias (Elsevier, Springer, and ASM International) in wear and tribology.

The research areas of Dr. Li cover a wide range of topics, including material design, surfaces & interfaces, wear and corrosion, and computational materials science. His research team is devoted to investigation of the electronic origin of material properties and development of novel methodologies for material design and modification, using both experimental and computational/theoretical approaches. The alternative models and principles are applied to high-performance industrial materials for various applications, e.g., materials having high resistances to wear, corrosion, and corrosive wear, and functional materials as well.

Distinguished Professor Dr. Digvir S. Jayas was educated at the G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology in Pantnagar, India; the University of Manitoba, and the University of Saskatchewan. Before assuming the position of Vice-President (Research and International), he held the position of Vice-President (Research) for two years and Associate Vice-President (Research) for eight years. Prior to his appointment as Associate Vice-President (Research), he was Associate Dean (Research) in the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences, Department Head of Biosystems Engineering, and Interim Director of the Richardson Centre for Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and a Registered Professional Agrologist.

onghwa Kim received the BS and MS degree in electronic engineering from the Gachon University, Korea, in 1992 and 1994, respectively, the PhD degree in communication engineering from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany, 2003, and the Habilitation Dr. degree (venia legendi) in computer science from the University of Augsburg, Germany, in 2010, where he worked as professor of applied computer science until 2016. He is a full professor with the Department of Information and Communication Technology, Cheju Halla University, Korea. In 2016-2018, he was a professor of computer software with the University of Science and Technology (UST), Korea. His current research interests include affective artificial intelligence, pain and emotion recognition, and the deep learning for cognitive systems. He has served in a number of program committees of Affective Computing conferences and in editorial boards of related journals. Lucian Baia (born in 1971) received the license degree in Engineering from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in 1995, and the license degree in physics from the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, in 1998. He earned the master’s degree in physics of the oxide materials in 1999 from the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca and his PhD degree in 2003 at the Julius-Maximilians University Würzburg, Germany. In 2003 he began the academic career as lecturer at the Faculty of Physics of the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca. Between October 2005 and July 2006 he worked with Prof. Jürgen Popp’s group as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena, Germany. Since 2008 he became associate professor at the Department of the Condensed Matter Physics and Advanced Technologies of the Babes-Bolyai University. He is author or co-author of more than 60 peer-reviewed publications, three books and two book chapters.

Riad Taha Al-Kasasbeh received his MS in Engineering Science and PhD in Controlling of Biological and Electronic Equipments. He is currently a Professor at Al-Balqa Applied University. He is a member of professional organisations, an auditor for quality of research and education and co-author of over 88 papers (editions: Springer, IEEE, France Taylor, IASTED, Inderscience, Elsevier, etc.). He is also a Visiting Professor along with other universities like Philadelphia University and Konstanz University (HTWG), Karaganda State Industrial University. He was a Research Fellow of DFG at the HTWG. His research interests include biomedical engineering, biophysics, acupuncture, fuzzy logic decision-making, medical and ecology information systems. He presented his work at numerous international conferences as keynote speaker also he is currently member of the editorial boards of several journals. He is a Fellow of the Jordanian Society of Engineers, the Biomedical Engineering Society.
